Recovering from Surgery

NEWS AND INFO SERIES

After last year’s surgery gone wrong, the breathing machine and a month in the hospital, I’m still doing my best to recover from that time. But, it’s always been on the up, albeit slowly, with my body becoming physically stronger. However, the Post Traumatic Stress, although expected, has been difficult to move through. Things are getting better, but it’s still a struggle to get to sleep and feel better in the mornings. Some days I seem to have no motivation or energy at all, making life quite erratic. Again, it’s always improving and my frame of mind is becoming clearer with the 6 to 12 month recovery period being a reality.

The main things though, which have always helped is our faith in God, the prayers of our visitors, friends, and customers and continuing to build our social media platform. This, for the most part, has kept me focused on a day to day basis and gives the routine and the opportunity to continue looking forward. But it’s certainly not what I’ve liked and I’m really looking forward to the full recovery. I’ve been reminded that when that time comes, you just know, and hopefully, my sleep habits will be evidence of that, so here’s to looking ahead!

It’s been limited, with this recovery dominating this year, however, it’s given me time to do a lot of thinking and praying to arrive at decisions. And the best part has been spending some major quality time with the kids which they certainly need after all of this. It’s been great, and building our Youtube Channel and filming the videos has been a huge learning curve. But I think we’re getting closer each day to the final goal.

So, I’m pretty much still in the recovery process and to be open, I’ve really seen this whole year as just a recovery period. Being out vlogging on the motorbike has given me a huge boost and I think I’ll continue to do so for the rest of this year to recover fully. Part of me is desperate to get back to the land of the living, but the other part of me wants to take it slow. I’ve made the mistake before, of going back to work too early!

Hopefully, these surgery recovery updates will become a thing of the past on this, our News and Info Series.
