The End of the School Holidays
NEWS AND INFO
The kids are now back to school after quite a summer of activities most of which we filmed for their Birnie Family Fun YouTube channel including our most recent trip to Loch Lomond. For us, we still had our child care service open so having David and Emily at home meant that I was spending a lot of time with them, so when we got ourselves off for our caravan break, it was very much needed for some R&R. However, we’re beginning to find that holidays are more like working holidays rather than complete breaks as we film videos, but still an awesome wee holiday none-the-less.

Being back to the routine now, I’m continuing my rehabilitation from the surgeries gone wrong, the breathing machine and hospital stays. Physically I’m almost 100% (or whatever that is when you’re 45) but the mental and emotional issues remain. Getting off to sleep well is still an issue although I’m sleeping through most nights, but I’m still experiencing flashbacks and low mood, particularly in the mornings. It’s amazing how something as simple as a smell like anti-bacterial spray or hospital-style soup still give you that sinking feeling. But when I look back, we’ve come a long way however frustrating it may be at times.
So, we’re back to the build of this massive online platform. Sharon is doing more with David and Emily’s Birnie Family Fun YouTube channel with their new Instagram and Facebook. Meanwhile, I continue work on the house filming our various DIY Videos as well as finishing the other projects we have which include our motorcycle customisation. The idea of the Birnie Family YouTube Channel is to give our new and future readers a variety of videos with a little something for everyone. I’ll be pretty much focusing on this as part of my own rehab, so it’s time to get my head down and push on!
