A WEE PEEK – “…This will be our first festive season with the whole online platform, so it will be another learning period as we work out what we’ll be sharing and when. But as always, we’ll just go with the flow and see how it all works…”

Christmas on Youtube
NEWS AND INFO SERIES
Well that’s us nearing Christmas now and this year, we’ll be taking our break from Monday the 23rd of December until Monday the 6th of January 2020. As always though, our eBooks can be downloaded 24/7 from any of our eBookshops and we’ll be sharing some videos on our Birnie Family Youtube channel and our Pastor Steven and Sharon Facebook page, as well as images on Twitter and Instagram.

This will be our first festive season with the whole online platform, so it will be another learning period as we work out what we’ll be sharing and when. But as always, we’ll just go with the flow and see how it all works. Obviously, David and Emily are super excited, so we’ll definitely be sharing their images and videos. What’s not definite though is the possibility of snowfall this year in our part of Scotland. Over the years, the traditional festive season has been snow-free with the snow coming between January and April of the following year, so we’ll share the snowy videos as soon as they happen.
It’s been quite a year though and one dominated by my own personal surgery recovery. That period in late 2018, with the breathing machine and extended stay in the hospital, has taken a lot longer to recover from than I’d first thought. It took weeks for my legs to regain strength and months for my upper body to get back to full strength, which only happened a few weeks ago. The most challenging thing though has been of Post Traumatic Stress and it’s been a constant experience over the course of the year. This has been the toughest part with good days and bad, with a very slow recovery for the emotional and mental side.
But in this, building the Tribulation Soldier series has been essential to my recovery. Since that hospital stay, I’ve spent a lot of time out on the motorbike filming videos as well as filming various others to populate our Youtube channels. This has kept me reasonably focused and looking ahead rather than dwelling on the now, however, the support we’ve received from our family, friends and partners has been awesome. It’s during times like these that the true feelings of family and friends shine through the brightest and we’ll always be grateful for the support we’ve received.
So as for the Tribulation Soldier Series, well we hope to be mostly stepping away from building, now that many features are in place, like our Motorbike Vlog and Scottish Tours videos, as well as our Youtube playlists such as DIY Dad and Cars, Bikes and Boats. With the focus shifting to continuing in writing the series and enjoying a continuance of building relationships with our friends and partners. Overall, we’re really pleased with what’s been built despite two episodes of surgery gone wrong, and we’re confident that there will be a little something for everyone for our new and future readers to enjoy.
So for now, it’s time to focus on Christmas and we do wish everyone a great festive season and happy new year. As I said, we’ll be posting videos on Youtube and on Facebook as well as images on Twitter and Instagram, so we hope you enjoy if you drop by!
