NEWS AND INFO SERIES
Just recently, Youtube has made some changes in the area of child protection requiring Youtubers to set channels or individual videos to either adult or content for children. Now, from a parent’s point of view, this is an awesome idea, however, it means that we need to make a slight change in our Youtube set-up, to make sure our videos fall into the correct category. At the moment, we have three channels to give our users a bit of variety with everything from Motorbike Vlogs to Christian Sermons for the adult viewer. But recently, we’ve stepped out more and more giving our kids David and Emily the opportunity to make their own Youtube videos aimed at kids around their age.
In light of Youtube’s changes, we thought it best to create a fourth channel to run alongside our Birnie Family Youtube channel just for kids, containing the activities and antics of David and Emily. So far the kids have filmed canoeing, fishing and quad bike videos as well as their own individual playlists of David’s Model City and Emily’s Fairytale Land and this list will grow. So although the Mega Kids will still feature on our Birnie Family Youtube and Facebook pages, their content will now be available on our new channel at Birnie Family Fun.
The kids really are naturals and we tend to film videos with a rough plan in mind, but most of the time, we don’t rehearse, just going for it and seeing where it takes us. As a parent, I’m just so proud of them and let me tell you, it’s free entertainment for me. But more than that, children tend to have that natural, open way which we think makes some of the most genuine videos on Youtube today. So, we’ll be developing the Birnie Family Fun channel, to be ready for 2020, however, it’s live on Youtube at the moment and any reader is more than welcome to check it out. Just click on the image above, which will take you to our kid’s channel!
