I cannot help but to follow on the from the previously posted sermon about the Great Love of God because that brief message barely even scratches the surface of the subject so as a follow on, I thought I’d take one aspect aside to focus on for this post. It does astound me from time to time just how clouded the true sense of his love can become and like I said before, we need to regularly remind ourselves, to keep our heart and mind sharp as a Christian so I hope this post adds to the previous message.

If you are quite new to the faith, hopefully it’s clear that God’s Love is very different to the world idea of love and for us to understand it fully we must do two simple things and the first, is to study each of the aspects in turn so that you’re clear in your mind

about the subject and how you do that effectively, is by a simple process of reverse engineering.  You see on any given subject in God’s Word, the answers are actually very clear but it’s understanding those answers which is the key so what you do, is look at each of the aspects of Love and turn them around so that you look at them in the light of – ‘This is how God feels about me’.

.
This is important, think on it, why would God expect us as Christians to show this kind of love toward others, if this wasn’t the way he first felt about us?  I hope you see the other angle here, God cannot contradict his Word so what you have just read in the EBook Excerpt, THIS IS THE WAY GOD FEELS ABOUT YOU and I, and every piece of it at that.  He is long suffering towards us, he won’t give up on us or throw in the towel, he is kind to us, he doesn’t think any evil of us and he keeps no record of wrongs. He does think the best in us, he does become who we need him to be and all of this points toward the fact that God loves each one of us just the way we are.
.
The trouble is, is that many of us can struggle to take the fact on board that God loves us or as a real reality in our lives due to the various circumstances and examples we’ve had in our past.  It can be difficult to believe that the above is in fact a reality which brings me to the second thing we must do, allow God to show us how much he loves us.  Now bear with me, God says in his Word for us to love neither in word and in tongue but in truth and in deed, in other words don’t tell people you love them, show them you love them. Why would God ask us to this if he wasn’t willing to do this himself?
.
We need to allow God to love us, the Word of God and the reality of that truth need

to go together hand in hand for us to truly have that revelation of God’s Love so, let God love you and you don’t have to look far.  He will love us in every aspect of our lives and through anyone we meet, he’ll love us through Pastor’s, our Elders, through finances, social situations, just look for him and you’ll see him but most of all, acknowledge him in every area of your life and allow him the room to love you.

.
The above two is the simple, clear way of understanding God’s Love for ourselves with little more to be said, this is the way God feels about each and everyone of us and loosing our sense of this is normally down to the enemy trying to do the opposite in our lives, but God’s Love is greater, let him love you Christian and you’ll find the peace and joy you need!
.
God bless
Steven
