Questions Answered

Pastor Steven Birnie

.

Good evening.

.

As you can see I’ve been spending a lot of my time lately uploading the backlog of answers for the Questions Answered series so I hope you are enjoying them so far. Tonight’s question is another one of those ‘old chestnut’ statements which we encounter as Christians so hopefully this article will be a short and to the point answer for you to consider.

.

This is the question which many can have on their minds, if there is a God, why doesn’t he just show himself and strangely enough theSunset answer is a lot more simple than you might think. The answer is, he already has many times and he promises to show himself again in the future. Numerous times throughout the Old Testament, God appeared on many occasions especially to Moses and other well-known figures and in the future, God promises he will show up again for all to see on more than one occasion. For us in this time though, God did show up and presented himself through his son as the Messiah proving himself by fulfilling all, of what was spoken of him in the OT and in the history of the Nation of Israel. His life and death was well documented by the historians both secular and religious of the time showing there was indeed a man called Jesus who came and was crucified.

.

Now in this world today everybody has heard of this Jesus and this is 2000 years later and there’s a worldwide body of believers who open there lives to God to work through them showing himself time and time again. The truth is God has shown himself many times throughout history, God has proved time and time again that he is indeed real through his believers and he remains a God who absolutely loves this world and desires to see it saved. Why doesn’t he show himself…..he has, many times.

.

God bless
