Good evening,
.
As a slight change in pace this evening I thought it might share a little about a subject which I’ve been thinking about for some time as a chance to show what the scriptures say and what my viewpoint is towards this extremely important subject.  I will be adding to this article in the next few weeks so if you’d like to follow the messages, please click our RSS Feed at the bottom of this page otherwise, I hope you enjoy the read……
.
As people we tend to view the world as it’s presented to us today but in Biblical Times, the world was a very different shape, the USA didn’t exist, Australia didn’t exist as well as many other countries. The known world was centred around the Mediterranean and the Roman Empire and in these times, women were rarely free people, looked upon as the lesser of the two sexes, marginalised and in many cases treated with no real sense of respect. Women were basically there to serve the man and bear children but a man came along who would change the face of the woman’s lot in life and his name, was Jesus Christ.
.
One fact we must bear in mind regards this subject and indeed all others, is that Jesus was the express image of God in thought, WGP-9word and deed and Jesus himself did nothing by accident.  Everything he did and didn’t do, had a purpose and when you take the subject of liberating women in the context of the whole New Testament Scriptures, then it’s clear to see Jesus was the greatest liberator of women in history. In this subject, he showed the world clearly the true mind of God toward his precious female creation.
.
In Jesus’ time and in the area he was preaching, women were tremendously undervalued and rarely acknowledged by the Priests and Religious however, as Jesus did with so many things, he turned these norms’ on their heads and showed the people a new and living way. Like I said before, Jesus was the express image of God and in that, Jesus choose women to be among his disciples unlike the other Rabbi’s of the time, allowing them to partake fully in his earthy ministry as equals.  One of the most famous was that of Mary Magdalene, Mary was a former prostitute and over the course of time, she began to follow Jesus as he taught and performed his miracles. Mary herself was obviously very special to Jesus and after his death, burial and resurrection, he appeared to her in the garden as the risen saviour to comfort her and tell her the good news, he had risen again.
.
Mary is just one of many examples of the mind of God towards women in the New Testament and I suppose the greatest and most famous verses we could find is when Paul said that in salvation there is neither male nor female, Jew or Greek, Bond or free, God taught the people of the time that things had most certainly changed and in the New Testament, men and women were equal in the eyes of God and therefore the world. It’s sad but even today, women are still being viewed as the lesser in many parts of the world and misrepresented in many ways whether it be through the more extreme aspects of the women’s liberation movement of the 60’s and 70’s, to still being marginalised through traditions of men however, as the Christian woman, you can be sure that Jesus was the greatest liberator of women in the history of the world showing the mind of the creator of mankind.
.
God forbid that women would be marginalised in our churches today but I’m sure it’s still the case with many and if it is, then grave mistakes are being made out with the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, he showed us the pattern, anything other than that is of flesh and of the flesh, sin. He was the greatest liberator of women yesterday, today and he will be tomorrow, Jesus showed us, and taught us through the Epistles, his mind towards his darling daughters and as a man, this should teach us to be very mindful of God on this subject and cherish our ladies like diamonds.
.
I realise there may be a few questions which will be asked regards this subject even in this short article so I thought I might take the opportunity to answer the obvious ones, to fill-out this article a little more however, please feel free to leave comments at the bottom of this page. Please click on the below questions below, they have been answered if a ‘Click here’ is next to it, otherwise I will work through them in the coming days. Thank you….

What about the fact Jesus never chose women as his Apostles?
What about the fact that no women wrote the New Testament Books?
What about when the scriptures say the head of a man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man?
How do we take the verses for the woman to submit herself to her husband?
.
The above are some of the most common questions I heard however please feel free to ask any others and I will answer as best I can.
.
God bless
Steven
