What’s wrong with Church? Nothing….
.
One of the many common statements you might hear in the Christians sphere is “what’s wrong with church” or “why is church dysfunctional”. Many people say it and you can read countless books and articles with individuals giving their views and teachings I might add, on what they’d call the common problems with Church however, this kind of talk and I must be frank, does more damage than it ever does good quite simply because the statement itself is grossly untrue. Now, in my younger Christian years I was as guilty as any for using this statement very loosely however as I grew, God began to speak to my heart about how damaging and how silly, these kind of statements and the discussions which follow truly are and I would discourage any from getting involved.
.
The church in the original scriptures is rightly translated the ‘called out ones’ and can’t be defined as a group of individuals in an area, a denomination or a specific building but a worldwide group of individuals which Jesus calls his Body, made of countless individuals from all over the globe of every race, colour and creed. This is Christ’s True Church and when individuals comment so loosely saying “the church is dysfunctional”, they directly judge Christ’s Body when it’s his and his alone to guide. Now I’m not saying we need to be naive or quiet about the growth of the Body but rather to be careful as to how we use our words when we approach a subject like this. Not only that but have the attitude of contributing to building the body not tearing it down.
.
A statement which which would be far more fitting would be “what’s wrong with the way some practice their faith” or “what’s wrong with the way they assemble themselves together” but never the Church. The Church, Christ’s Body is exactly where it is at this point in history and a Church which Christ and Christ alone has built, which he will continue to build and finish it I might add, in his way and in his time. Thinking or speaking otherwise does more damage than it ever does good to the image of Christ, his Gospel and the Church in this world today and it’s something I would discourage any reader from partaking in.
.
Again friends I was the world’s worst years ago when it came to this subject and I’m glad I think differently now, it is his Church, his Church to lead, build and bring forward and any Christian should take care as to how they speak. To the younger Christian I would simply say just not to get involved in these kind of conversations especially on Blog Pages or coatrooms, just you focus on enjoying your life with Jesus.
