Good evening. I’m sure our regular visitors will have noticed that I’ve been answering some questions which Christians encounter as part of building our Questions Answered Feature of our Blog Page. Some have been very common questions and others are more serious in nature however, they are all important subjects for Christians of all ages and experience and I’ll continue to build the feature and answer the

questions which are put to us. So, keep them coming.

.

One of the aspects of our Questions Answered in which I’ve encouraged our readers to consider, is having these kind of answers clear in our mind and for our own faith first, so that we might respond in a balanced manner whether the question is being asked as a genuine query about our faith or, to take a little pop at what we believe. It’s important we think on this because having all the knowledge and quick answers is nothing without the conversation being carried with wisdom and with love and I always hope to encourage, that our goal should never be to prove a person wrong and walk away victorious, but to be lead of the Spirit to really challenge the individual in what they believe, as a means to sow some seeds of the Jesus in our lives.

The genuine queries about our faith can often be the easiest and enjoyable to answer especially when it’s clear that a person is searching and interested in what we believe however, there’s always those who will challenge us in an unreasonable way and as always, the scriptures have advice for those situations too. In the Book of Timothy, Paul encouraged his young Overseer of Ephesus to ‘avoid foolish and unlearned questions’ because they lead to strife and pointless debates but instead, withdraw graciously and be wise. Now, this instruction didn’t mean for Timothy not to engage in debates and even passionate exchanges, Jesus, Paul and the other Apostles were often in these type of situations but it was more to recognise the situation for what it was and decide whether it was worth it.

.

I hope these answers will furnish believers especially the young, with the knowledge and understanding for the armoury, so that they might experience that boldness to take on these questions, to not be defensive and shy, but to really engage an individual and enjoy the exchange.  I’ve been thoroughly enjoying answering the questions which have been put to us, it’s been great for me to brush up on some of these subjects too so please, keep them coming.
